This is Us

What happens when two best friends of 40 years sit down and ask the questions we’re all thinking, but don’t always say out loud?  My real life BFF Corey brings real-life situations, and I bring the therapist perspective. Together we land somewhere refreshingly unexpected, universally informative and downright entertaining.

Corey and I have spent four decades navigating life, love, friendship, family, heartbreak, loss and everything in between. Our friendship is the kind that comes with history, honesty, humor and hard truths.

I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist, a wife and mom. I aim to be thoughtful, grounded and empathetic. Corey says I'm the person at the table who somehow seems to have a perspective that brings you back to yourself, and that I’m “a human compass pointing towards what really matters”. I love that complement, and I do try to embody that in all I do, whether in my therapy sessions or in my personal relationships and of course, as a mom.

Then there’s Corey. Sarcastic, vulnerable, curious and rarely without a story, situation or question she needs help sorting out. She says what many of us are thinking, asks the questions we might be too embarrassed to ask and isn’t afraid to laugh at herself along the way. She’s the one everyone wants to sit next to at that table!

Together we  have conversations that feel like the ones you have with your best friend after everyone else has gone home.
